Canoes

A much needed upgrade of the troop's canoes was accomplished in 2015.

Stoves

Professional quality stoves replaced the ones that served so many meals.

Awesome Dock

This new dock was a big investment but is worth it. It's much better for the scouts to swim off and much easier to put in and take out.

New Mess Hall Floor

This past year the mess hall floor was replaced. It was overdue. This new floor is a piece of craftsmanship. It is oiled, not polyurethane coated.

The Troop 25 Archive: A Collection of Photos, Videos, Music, and Documents

Troop 25 has a very large collection of photos going back to 1938. Most of these were slides which were scanned. A tedious and time consuming process that took several years.

Photos

We have a large and growing collection of videos. Some have been converted for the 8mm home movie format. Today everybody has a video camera on their phone.

Videos

Our collection of music files is spotty and not that extensive. However, we do have recordings that have been converted to sound file formats.

Music

There's not much to show here however we do have the ability to scan in various documents. Some of these may be of historical interest.

Every Photo is a Story

The first campsite at Camp Kirkham in August 1969. This is the middle weekend when the two groups of 1952 age group boys were changing over.
Second year seniors on a 10 mile hike to Camp Johnson got to stop here for a swig or two.
"The Garbage Run" was famous and the stuff of song at campfires in the 1960's.
A deep sea fishing trip was always a part of the program at Lake of Isles.

Troop 25 Photo Archive

The Troop 25 Photo Archive begins with a photo from 1938. Building upon that we have about 15,000 images. That number is expected to grow exponentially as it is so easy to take digital photos with mobile phones.

Once the initial collection is installed on the website we'll start adding photos in a seven year cycle. The photos for the current roster so scouts will be maintained online in a separate website. Each year we will pull the rookie year collection for the graduating scouts.

The archive is maintained on a "digital asset management" system. You can view all images without having to login. However, if you could take the time to create a user account that will allow you to comment on the photos. This is important as we don't know the who, what, where, or when of so many of the older photos. Help us out. Preserve the history.

Contributions to the Troop 25 written history is just getting started. We encourage anyone who would like to share a story to do so.
